Open Question: Big Four or a Bank for CFA candidate?

I am a CFA L1 student. My Question is that should i start working for a big 4 audit firm now to have the right experience by the time i finish my CFA or should i look for an analyst job in a bank . If a BIG FOUR , then which section /department will be most useful to help my career accelerate in the right Direction. Will a big four experience help me find a better IB related job or working with any bank in the right area will give me the same chances to progress in my career. Does experience of a big 4 on a CFA's CV really matter to employers? I want to pursue a career in investment banking, treasury, corporate and pvt banking, business analysis etc. Help !

Open Question: Who is in the wrong, me or my boss?

I have worked at a place on and off when needed since 2006 at $10.00/hr. His Office Manager left and we agreed on $13 an hour for me to take the position, which is technically a new person in a new job (kinda like a new hire, right?). He hired someone else at the same time to take my old job that I had had for every of those years at $10 and gave HER a lift of a $1!!! I got NOTHING! I have single handed organized EVERYTHING so well that I finish my work load in 4 hours less than the employee he had before. I also made it so no one can ever say that they did not receive product anymore by making everything have tracking when shipped. I do work from home when needed, never tardy, never missed a day of work. Why is it that SHE got the lift and not ME!?! I work my butt off for him! He doesn't understand that it was not a lift he was giving me by giving me the position he needed to fill. He thinks that every that happened there was that I got a lift. I got 1000x's more responsibilities and I have the business running the smoothest it has ever been!!! Really!?!?! Who is in the wrong here!?! Or another way to word that is should I be upset and offended? Because I am… Additional Details *the person hired, WAS my pal. she is a high school drop out, former crack head, that has been in rehab and spent time in prison, so NO, she does NOT have more experience or more education than I do. *I did ask for a lift and read a list of everything that I have done for him. He said that he gave her a lift because she lives further away. Umm.... weird. But, he didn't give me one. She didn't ask for one or work difficult enough to deserve it. HE even says that she is kinda dumb. It is a business of 4 people. Its not some HUGE corporate thing. I just thought that it should be easier! I just don't receive it. He compliments ME every the time on my work... if he didn't have the money to give me a lift, he shouldn't have given anyone a lift. He told me that he gave her one b/c I have to write the pay checks. Thats how I know... and yeah... I am OFFENDED!!! *I have been in the NEW position for over 4 months. She has been here for a little over 2 months. *Oh yeah... and my boss KNOWS that this person he hired lives for FREE with in laws AND she gets food stamps... My bills are almost $1400 a month!!! He knows that as well. He has known me since I was 4, so its a little more personal. Was my moms pal.

P/E ratios are probably viewed as the most consistent red flag to excessive optimism and over-investment. It also serves as a marker of business problems and opportunities. I was wondering if there was someplace that tracks or trends historically the P/E of the entire market as a whole. On the surface, I would think this would provide a true indication of the health of the market.

Open Question: My husband wants her to believe she's the only one - what does this mean?!?

I overheard a conversation between my husband and his mistress, using our home phone, when he stayed home from work last week. He doesn't know that I know. She was upset and wouldn't tell him what was wrong, she wanted to talk in person. He was being VERY gentle with her - even his tone of voice was different, and he finally got her to admit that she was upset because they don't look each other enough (she wanted to break up, which has happened between them many times over the course of almost two years - I found out recently). He didn't let her end it and wanted to talk about it again. BUT, at one point, she asked something like "Are you like this with everybody else??", and he said "You mean my wife? I don't have anybody else... Where would I find the time?" STILL, they both agreed that they want to keep it about "just sex" (he said he doesn't want any "emotional stuff" because "that's when you receive in trouble"). Does the fact that he wants her to believe there's nobody else - only me - mean that he's emotionally involved with her? I mean, if it was just sex between them, it would be none of her business how many other "mistresses" he has, right?! BTW, yes, I'm going to confront him, I need opinions on THIS matter only.

Open Question: The Sims 3, Owned property is no longer owned when the family moves to a new house?

So I had this family and they were partners of several of the businesses in town. When I moved them into another home, they were no longer partners of those businesses. What happened? AND when the family goes to the old home, they can still use the objects in there, even though no one lives there anymore? They can snooze on the beds, and eat the food out the fridge, but no one lives in it.

Open Question: Exploring Sins Plot. What do you think?

I know I posted this before but I think now that I detailed it a bit more it might be a bit better. If you want to know the full plot or look the rough draft ( roleplay that isn't complete ) email me :D ( it's co-written between my sister and I about our characters ) A young boy abandoned by his parents at the tender age of eight must learn to fend his possess on the icy streets of Tokyo, Japan. Not only is he alone with no recollection of anything ( keep for his name ) but he is also out casted by society for being a nearly forgotten fairy-tale breed: Neko-Jin ( lit. cat person. ) An old man finds him on the streets sleeping and, thinking he's dead takes him to the hospital where they diagnosed him with amnesia. However, they aren't sure how sever it is therefore he might never receive it back. Upon awaking Gakuto ( Gato for short ) is met with the voices of the doctor and the man who rescued him-as they decide his fate. They both decide that he would go into an orphanage and the man takes him away-while walking to the orphanage the old man angers Gato by saying " You're going to a place where others are like you " ( meaning other orphans ) taking offence Gato lashes out and tears away from the man running away and into town. A day or two later we meet up with him again in front of a candy store. Gato is drooling with anticipation ( he hadn't eatten in a few day except scraps or tiny things he could steal ) and then he meets a boy-or rather a boy meets him. The boy, named Azuna, is intrigued by him and his cute ears ( there are no other neko-jins known seeing as they are said to be myth ) he asks Gato if he wants candy-Gato, starving agrees and they go into the store where Gato grabs as much candy as he can and eats it every upon ( Azuna ) paying. As they walk outside Azuna starts to question Gato-about his parents and whereabouts. Gato, having no memory of them, has no clue what he's talking about. Then, Azuna's brother, Asubi walks up and says they have to go home. Azuna not wanting to leave Gato says he'll catch up and when his brother leaves steals a kiss from Gato. ( He has an instant liking of him ) Gato is confused about the kiss and says that it's wrong ( he knows that it's not acceptable ) but Azuna doesn't care. Soon, Azuna's brother calls again, this time Gato is the one who stops him from leaving. Azuna is touched and promised that he would find him again ( and adore him ) as a parting gift of remembrance Azuna gives Gato a silky choker to wear and then leaves. A few years pass and neither has heard from one another ( every but forgetting that day ) Gato is 17 and we look him on a stage, naked, and bruised. He still has the choker with a golden bell attached. During those years Gato got mixed in with trouble and was sold to a underground whorehouse. He was sold to random men and used to their liking but he always came back to the whorehouse. Then, we meet Azuna again, now 23 ( he was 15 when Gato was 8 ) and he just so happens to be in the whorehouse with co-workers on business he hears the announcer describe Gato and looks up astonished to look the teen. He vaguely remembers him from their childhood and bids the highest winning Gato. So, he takes Gato home with him and tries to look if he remembers ( which he does ) but he holds a grudge against Azuna for leaving. Blah, Blah, they have sex, vow to never leave each other again, blah blah and fall in adore. That's every we have so far written down ( it started as a roleplay lol ) but we figured that Gato would never receive his memory back, Azuna would hunt down for his parents, they would receive married and have kids. But that's every in the second book. Also in the second book after having the kids ( they each snooze with a lady when they receive drunk after a battle ) Azuna and Gato split up splitting the kids up as well. The second book might be about the kids instead of Gatoa and Azuna.

Open Question: Do Tea Partiers really know what the term "right-winged extremism" represents?

I recently met a state coordinator for the Austin Tea Party Patriots (Texas). This person's business card read as follows: Austin Tea Party Patriots Right-winged Extremists Do Tea Partiers know the history of right-wing extremism in Western societies? Historically, right-wing extremist ideologies have been fascist in nature, opposed to the notions of democracy and liberalism, the very ideas America was founded upon. (Please note, "liberalism" is not the same thing as "Liberal". Two different things.) Do Tea Partiers realize the Nazi party was considered "right-wing extremism"? Or Mussolini's National Fascist Party? Or Franco's regime in Spain? Therefore, an association between "Tea Party" and "fascism" is implied, whether intentional or not. Perhaps a wiser choice of wording might help their cause.

Open Question: How can I help my brother?

Hi! Well, my brother is 15 years old, but is extremely skinny ( he is 5.7 f - weights 94.79 pounds) and it breaks my heart to look him like this. He eats normally (doesn't starve or anything) but has no interest in gaining weight, put muscle or anything - even go outside and receive some sunlight. We live in a big home and its a pity that every he does is stay in his room. His class isn't big - only 9 people and he doesn't have a single pal...Im not extremely sociable but I've always had a couple of friends to hang out. I would be nice of satisfied if he at least had internet friends.... Whenever he exercise it's only because I have to push him, yell at him - forcing him to do something. He is extremely childish and has difficulty creating a more perplexed sentence (when writing) and my mum automatically assumes he is retarded or smth which makes me furious. And the reason is because when having an essay for HW - he always has my mum or me write it. How on earth will he be able to write if every he does is just copy? He is really shy (I never know what he is thinking, he always keeps it to himself) or gets hysterical and starts screaming when somebody makes him mad, which makes him look even funnier (with that tiny frame and every T_T) every he does is play on the computer . As a whole how can I make him have an interest in something? I am a bigger sister (19) and I know I can be childish too...well every the time which has probably left him with the wrong impression how to behave. Sometimes I feel so sorry that I wasn't born a guy ( a bigger brother ) My dad was always busy working and barely gave him attention and when he nice of started his possess business and was supposed to stay at home more - he started acting extremely rude, nasty etc. This led to my brother always avoiding him. I nice of know he is maybe too young, but when I compare the other boys I am shocked at the difference... What can I do

Open Question: Wouldn't it be wise for Obama to extend ALL of the Bush tax cuts?

I know you Liberals want to punish people that make more than you but wouldn't it help to create some jobs? There is a big black cloud on the horizon that Obama has created & businesses are in survival mode. They aren't going to spend anything until they find out how much of his radical agenda is going to be passed. Wouldn't extending the tax cuts help his party in November too? Open Question: Need help with 2011 Obama Tax Hike?

I'm pretty confused about this I have read many different things about Obama's tax increase for 2011 assuming that taxes will be increased in 2011, In regarding tiny business taxes. Here is an example, please tell me if i will be taxed. Theoretically, I have a tiny business and file tax C forms for 2011 and the tax cuts have expired in 2010. My business revenue for 2011 is $1,000,000. But my business costs are $550,000 not including employee salaries and profits are $450,000. I have 8 employees, each earning $40,000 per year. Employee cost are $320,000. My salary for the year is then $130,000. My wife makes $50,000 in 2011. My household income for the year 2011 is $180,000. Will I be taxed at the higher rate because my business make more than $250,000?

Open Question: Can someone explain to me why I would ever vote for Obama or any onther liberal?

I really sleepy of people calling me racist or ignorant for not wanting Obama to be my president. So I am ready for some input of why I should want Obama based solely on personal reason. My parents took a huge risk and were absolutely broke for a long time starting a health insurance company and now they are being run out of business by the government. I spent a ton of money going to one of the top schools of the country (Trinity University, in San Antonio) worked my @$$ off to graduate with honors only to find myself graduating probably with no job or maybe I will receive a job but have to pay back a ton of taxes. I was in the Air Force for a while and a ton of my friends are in the war right now and one got shot because even the though the war continues, the funding is being clip because we are spending money on other important issues like Cash for Clunkers,suing Arizona and running my parents out of business. So I am guessing I should just say.... yeah my parents took huge risk for nothing I took out every these loans and busted my ass in school for nothing and my friends are dead but w/e Obama is a great president. Some one please enlight my racist ignorant self.

Open Question: Relationship meltdown! please help.?

Hi, my mum has been re-married to my stepfather for 5 years now, it has been a rocky marriage to say the least. He has threatened to leave many times over the 5 years and made plans to. However when it has arrive to the crunch he has never acted on his words, and decided to stay. I think this may be due to security reasons, he is 67 years old and still works although his contract could run out any time, he has no home, he lives with my mum in her home which he has no legal claim to as this was already hers when they met. Effectively if they split he would be homeless, pensionless no security for future, with minimal time left to work. He is divorced from his first wife after he fled south africa from a bankrupt business, and is now estranged from his 2 daughters who live elsewhere. He has a very reckless, edgy nature in the sense that he has been irresponsible with money regularly spending more thatn he can afford and has had bailiffs after him in past. He is also a reocvered alcoholic, he has not touched booze since he has been with my mum. Trouble is this latest episode in which he said he was leaving was when he had been ripping up his credit card statements so my mum couldnt look them which obviously means he is overspending. They agreed to be honest about statements etc, but he is not sticking to this. The argument escalated from there and various obscenties followed e.g bad sex life, no affection and feeling were hurt. This resulted in him saying hed had enough and wanted 3K to start again and wants to go. Ive listened to my mum and up until now said nothing. Its today I felt that this has happened so many times in the past with him threatening to leave to say to her maybe he is just with you for security. Do you think I have done the right thing? She says if he goes she will be lonely but is that the basis on which to maintain a relationship? Your thoughts on the whole situation would be very much apreciated and will give a sense of perspective thanks so much.

Open Question: College essay format......?!?

Hi, My school wants me and my whole grade to start writing our college essay over the summer before we enter senior year. I was thinking of doing my topic on public speaking. I want to major in business so I figured I could talk about how I overcame my fear of public speaking because communication is very important in the business world. When I was in the 9th grade, I had to do a presentation on Oprah in front of the whole grade. Only a select few were chosen to gift to the whole grade, about 400 people. I want to talk about how this experience helped me overcome my fear. I was thinking of doing a 5 paragraph essay. I was also thinking the first body paragraph would be about how I was before the presentation - completely uncomfortable with speaking publicly. Then the second about what I felt during the presentation. Then the third about how I changed, and how I felt after. I would also have an intro and conclusion paragraph. Does this format seem good? any advice would be great about my essay! thanks :)

Open Question: My husband has screwed up for 10 years. Should I leave?

I don't feel anything but disgust for him when he touches me. We've been married 9 years, with two kids. I've caught him once on the computer talking to a lady, and he told her I was his ex girlfriend in a picture he sent her. Then, when I was 9 months pregnant, he went on a business trip to NY and went to a massage parlor... if you know what I mean. He lies at work, and has never provided health insurance, or had a 401k when he's had plenty of opportunity to do so. I've stayed at home with our kids, but now I'm starting to realize that unless I receive out there and do something for myself, I will have nothing to my name when I grow old! He depends on his dad for everything, and just last week quit ANOTHER job because he just didn't like it, and went back to his daddy's company. My parents are not speaking to him. They've watched him for the last decade and kept silent, but now they said they've had enough of me living like this and they want to help me leave him. But now that he knows I might leave, he's PROMISING that he'll straighten up. He's crying and begging and generally making me sick. lol!

Open Question: Is this a good plan??? Business, and Design?

I am currently enrolled in a four year university. I wasn't sure on a major at first but I decided business management. I would like to receive this degree then go back and receive a degree in Interior Design or become a MakeUp artist and start my possess business. Does this sound like a good plan or what? Open Question: Is it rude to ask someone to follow through on a favor?

When my uncle's pal found out I was getting married, he offered to make our unity candles for the wedding. He is retired and has a chandlery side business. His wife called a couple months ago asking what we wanted, etc. and later got my address from my uncle to send them. It still has not arrived and the wedding is 2 weeks away. Would it be rude if I sent them an email asking if I could expect the candles to arrive soon? Or should I just let it go? I have met this person only once about 7 years ago.

Open Question: I can't install two of my Sims 2 packs that I registered?

So I registered two of my Sims 2 packs (Apartment Life and Best of Business) and had to uninstall them, so when I tried to reinstall them, the registration key that came with the game comes up as invalid. I know I was putting in the right one. I tried multiple times and every pack except for the ones registered would reinstall using their original registration keys. I'm really upset, since I bought it legally, not even from the website and have the physical DVD but can't play it! Please help me! This is really important.

Open Question: Tax benefits for small businesses offering IRAs in Louisiana?

My employer is a tiny business owner in Louisiana. He has every of a sudden started offering an IRA for us. He pretty much is strong arming every of us into starting an account. The odd thing is, this is a restaurant and he is offering to match 3% of what we put in. He is a tightwad of every tightwads so I was wondering why he would do this because I know it's not out of the goodness of his heart. My question is does he receive a tax credit or a tax benefit of some sort by offering us this? If so, how much per person? Where can I look the rules and laws about this?

Open Question: In 4 years time, I want to start this small business but not sure if the risk is worth it?

I live in a place called Thousand Oaks, California. This city is pretty boring since this city is for old people yet it has a lot of restaurants.
